The right product order for your skincare routine
We know: With the multitude of products on the market, it can sometimes be hard to keep track. That’s why we’ve put together a basic routine for you that you can expand and adapt depending on your skin type and skin condition.
Tip:
Always apply your skincare products from thin to thick. That way lightweight textures can optimally absorb into the skin before you seal them in with richer products.
#step 1 & 2 • cleansing, tonic & exfoliant
Every skincare routine should start with a facial cleansing. It doesn't matter whether you use a cleansing foam, a cleansing mousse, or a cleansing cream. This removes all deposits, loose flakes, sweat, or makeup residue from your skin and prepares it for the products that follow.
After cleansing, you can use a facial water or tonic to clarify your face and complete the cleansing process. A toner also lifts the last traces of dirt from your skin and can additionally balance your skin's pH level.
After the tonic, you can optionally include a exfoliant. Generally, it's enough to exfoliate your skin once or twice a week; using it more often risks drying out your skin. An exfoliant can gently remove dead skin cells and give your skin an immediate smooth feel.
Tip:
If you use a chemical peel, we recommend incorporating it into your evening routine. This is because such a peel can often make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
#step 3 • serum & ampoule concentrates
Serums and ampoule concentrates deliver a concentrated boost of active ingredients to your skin. Their lightweight texture allows your skin to absorb the actives particularly well and then release them to the deeper layers.
Ampoules are ideal for intensive acute care or an instant effect. You can use them as a 7-day treatment or as a complement to your skincare routine. Ampoules always pursue a specific care goal: for example, they can give dry skin an extra boost of moisture, provide mature skin with anti-aging actives, or support blemish-prone skin in the fight against pimples.
Serums, on the other hand, are a Daily Essential – they are not aimed at instant effects, but rather target long-term results. They can therefore work over a longer period and help your skin to improve sustainably. Depending on their formulation, they can also support different skin needs.
Tip:
If you want to incorporate both a serum and an ampoule into your routine, always apply the ampoule first.
#step 4 • eye care
The skin around our eyes is particularly thin and delicate, so it needs targeted care. To give it exactly what it needs, an eye cream or eye gel can be incorporated into the daily care routine. It can
- give the skin an extra boost of moisture,
- reduce dark circles and treat puffiness,
- help prevent signs of skin aging,
- smooth fine lines.
They differ in this respect
Eye cream and eye gel primarily differ in their moisture content and the resulting texture.
Eye Cream
- Creamy, firmer texture
- Especially rich in its formulation
- Can plump the eye contour and noticeably reduce fine lines
Eye Gel
- Gel-like, more fluid texture
- Especially rich in moisture, with low oils
- Can hydrate the eye area and
reduce signs of stress and fatigue
Tip:
To give your eyes a special burst of freshness, you can also store your eye gel in the fridge. This way the products deliver an extra cooling effect.
#step 5 • care
To finish your skincare routine, a moisturizer or light lotion provides your skin with intensive moisture, locks in the active ingredients applied beforehand, and strengthens the skin’s natural barrier.
Depending on the product and your skincare goals, it can also
- smooth your skin,
- protect your skin from free radicals,
- improve your skin’s firmness, or
- supply your skin with active ingredients such as vitamin C, niacinamide, or special peptides.
Each of our lines offers its own unique properties tailored to specific skin needs. For example, our hyaluron⁵ line is specially designed to provide your skin with intensive moisture. Our collagen line, on the other hand, can stimulate natural collagen synthesis and thus improve firmness.
You can always find out what properties a line offers on the individual product pages. That way, our products can give you exactly what your skin needs right now.
Additional care steps
Sun protection factor (spf)
UV rays surround us all year round – which is why good UV protection should be an essential part of your skincare routine. A good sun protection factor (LSF or SPF in English), when used correctly, can act like an invisible shield for your skin by extending the skin's natural protection time.
Daily protection in the form of a sunscreen or a day cream with built-in sun protection factor can therefore
- keep your skin healthy, even and radiant,
- protect against UVA and UV rays,
- help prevent premature skin aging and slow the formation of dark spots.
We therefore recommend finishing your daily morning routine with a sun protection factor.
Masks
If you want to do something good for your skin, you can integrate a facial maskin your care routine 2-3 times a week. Whether moisturizing, clarifying or soothing – masks are the perfect complement to address specific skin needs. Ideally use masks after exfoliation, so the active ingredients can be absorbed particularly well by your skin.
Tip:
You can also wear our masks as an overnight mask to give your skin an extra boost. The longer application time allows your skin to absorb the active ingredients especially well. Simply apply a thinner layer of the mask for this. The next morning, you can start your skincare routine as usual.
Systematic skincare delivers long-term, visible results !
With the right order, the products that suit you, and a bit of patience and consistency, your skincare routine will become a true Self-care Ritual and your skin will thank you with radiance, balance, and an extra glow.
